4th Annual Cincinnati SneakerBall
For the 4th Annual Cincinnati SneakerBall, we welcomed over 500 attendees, 22 charitable partners, and 11 activations to the Cincinnati Music Hall, making it our largest & most impactful SneakerBall to date! Thank you to everyone who came out. This year’s proceeds created a resource closet for Saturday Hoops featuring athletic wear, sneakers, equipment, and more for the kids to be comfortable & confident annually at Saturday Hoops’ programming.
Go Hoop Day
Bigger Than Sneakers & Corporate brought the Go Hoop Day celebration back to Cincinnati! This year’s festivities took place indoors for over 75 people, with our youngest hooper being 2 years old! From shooting around and full court games, to free t-shirts and music, we had a great time alongside our community celebrating the only holiday dedicated to the greatest sport ever!
Youth Basketball Mentorship Clinic
We got to partner up with NBA Player, Keifer Sykes, and his organization, the Free 10 Foundation, to host a youth basketball clinic in Indianapolis, IN. About 30 kids were able to get 1:1 mentorship from Keifer, participate in drills, and run a 5 on 5 game at the end.
BTS got to partner with Corporate, US Nike Football, and Canvaas to put on the Grail of All Tailgates, leading up to the 2022 College Football National Championship. As part of the festivities, we invited 4 Indianapolis nonprofits that serve youth in the community to test their football knowledge!
Jessie Bates III
Single Moms’ Initiative
We spent the entire weekend alongside Jessie Bates III and Rise Sports Advisors for Jessie Bates’ Single Moms’ Initiative. For him to use his story as a foundation to give to others is truly inspiring. What a great weekend with such an amazing group of families.
“Free Lunch” Giveaway
James Whitner told us a story through the release of the Social Status “Free Lunch” Dunk and we wanted to follow through with that storytelling in our communities. With the help of Corporate, we were able to give pairs to students in the Cincinnati & Indianapolis Public School Districts. These kids are our future and we want to support them in the best way that we can.
BIGGER THAN SNEAKERS
Powered by Puma, BTS was able to host a Social Justice Leadership Workshop for the kids of the Greater Cincinnati YMCA. With the workshop led by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, students had an educational and interactive experience that combined historical consciousness, social justice, and creative design for students during Black History Month.
From December 4th to 18th of 2020, BTS collected shoes in excellent & new conditions to donate to our friends over at UpSpring! We were able to collect over 300 pairs of shoes that were given to kids in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Areas experiencing homelessness.
